The human eye is drawn to pictures. They can provide a lot of information in a very short time. Your picture is possibly the single most important element of your listing. Not only are your images the first impression you give to potential buyers, they’re also used by Amazon’s algorithms to help determine your ranking and visibility.

How to Get the Best Results From Amazon Product Pictures

Focus on quality! Customers like to buy from professionals who put a lot of time and effort into their business. Having high quality photos demonstrates to your customers that you’re committed to quality. Try to use a professional quality camera, find the most attractive angles, and use a white background if possible. You should also touch-up your pictures with photo editing software such as Photoshop to optimize the image, but be careful not to over-edit to the point that you misrepresent your product. If you don’t have the equipment or expertise to take and edit professional quality photos, you may want to consider hiring someone, it will be well worth the expense.

You can use up to 9 images in your listing, USE THEM! We recommend that you use at least 5-7 images at a minimum, use all 9 if possible. Provide multiple angles, showcase special features with close-ups, demonstrate how your product is used, etc. Get creative and provide as many pictures as possible. Not only will this help to show customers more about your product, but it will boost your ratings with the Amazon algorithms. The more images, the better.

Make sure your images are large enough! The image will have to be at least 1000 pixels in height and/or width in order to enable the zoom feature. This is very important as it will encourage customers to really look at your pictures. The longer they look, the more time they’ll have to think about your product and embed it in their minds.

Studies have shown that listings with high quality images are significantly more likely to convert from a view to a sale. Try to put yourself in the position of the customer and think about what you would want to see. What would attract your eye? What features would you want to see in pictures?
